Freedom and innovation go hand in hand, and a recent conference in
Watch a report about the Free Market Road Show® stop in Bosnia and Herzegovina (in Bosnian):

“The STEPS conference was organized in the great hall of Bosanski Kulturni Centar in Tuzla and was attended by about 500 students,” said Admir Čavalić, founder and director of Multi. “Speakers had exactly 18 minutes to tell the most interesting story of their life, inspired by liberty and entrepreneurship. Each speech was recorded by the local television and will be broadcast as a weekly program, after which it will be placed on the television’s YouTube channel. A total of eight speakers spoke on entrepreneurship, youth activism, liberty and art, the importance of volunteering, and the basics of liberalism. During the STEPS conference, we organized a mini-event promoting liberal economic reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Multi also held a “Night of Ideas” debate competition, Čavalić said, with six teams that competed in front of an audience of 100 participants. The debate topics included youth unemployment, economic reforms, and the overall economic situation within Bosnia and Herzegovina. The winning team in “Night of Ideas” will have the chance to debate in Sarajevo as part of the Balkan Liberty Fest, a three-day conference that won Atlas Network’s 2015 Think Tank Shark Tank prize when Čavalić pitched the idea during Liberty Forum & Freedom Dinner.

The Free Market Road Show® (FMRS), organized by Austria-based Atlas Network partners the F. A. v. Hayek Institut and the Austrian Economics Center, also made a recent stop in Tuzla, with the participation of Multi and the faculty of economics at the University of Tuzla. This FMRS stop brought the ideas of liberty to more than 100 students in Bosnia and Herzegovina, explaining the value of economic freedom, trends in the sharing economy, and the importance of freedom of speech during an age of increasing political correctness.

“During our events, participants were given hundreds of copies of The Economics of Freedom, gift cards for The Essential Hayek book that we are printing right now, and Ideas for a Free Society CDs. We had huge media coverage for all three events. The first results are already visible, because we’ve never had more volunteers for Multi with the desire to participate in the biggest movement to promote the ideas of liberty in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Bosnia and Herzegovina brought inspiring stories of liberty and entrepreneurship to hundreds of high school and university students. Multi (Udruzenje Gradana), an Atlas Network partner based in Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized the first STEPS Conference to bring “the positive stories of successful people from different spheres of life” to young people in order to spark their spirit of innovation and spur them on to successful careers as entrepreneurs.
